Another meeting of the working group on partnership issues of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas took place. From the London South Bank University, the following representatives were present: Mandy Maidment, Dean of the Faculty of International Cooperation; Darren James-Mitchell, Deputy Dean; Sophie da Silva, Partnership Manager; Aissata Edmondson, Head of the Global Partnerships Department; and Ravindran Sundararajan, responsible for the implementation of the double degree program “Information Technologies for Sustainable Energy Development.” Representing IFNTUNG were Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Systems and Networks Maryan Slabinoga and Professor of the Department of Software Engineering Igor Liutak.
The parties have shared reports on changes in the organizational structure of universities and discussed the vision of partnership in the context of the strategies of the two universities. Issues related to the dual degree program were discussed in detail. Specifically, the following points were addressed:
– The current international accreditation that the program is undergoing and the results of the visit by experts from the German accreditation agency ZeVA.
– Recognition of learning outcomes in the first semester;
– Special admission conditions in 2024;
– Funding for the program;
– Marketing activities related to the program;
– Academic mobility opportunities for students of the program;
– Consultation and review of master’s theses by students of the program with representatives from London South Bank University.
In addition, the possibilities of using library and other resources of LSBU by professors of IFNTUNG were discussed, as well as opportunities for joint research and participation in international projects.
