This module is a central discipline of the second semester in Master’s program IT4SEE1 It is aimed at transitioning from theoretical data analysis to the practical creation of complex information systems capable of real-time control of energy objects and monitoring their condition.
Main characteristics:
- Status: Compulsory
- Volume: 5 ECTS credits
- Language of instruction: English.
- Location in the course: 2nd semester (stage of in-depth professional training).
The aim and content of the module
The module focuses on the engineering aspects of control systems development. Students learn to combine software with hardware solutions to create intelligent networks, smart grids and energy management systems. The educational process includes active work in laboratories, where experimental research and process control modeling are carried out.
What will you learn?
After completing the course, students will be able to:
- Designing system architecture Creating a structure of information systems for collecting, processing, and visualizing data from energy networks.
- Developing software and hardware: develop specialized software and integrate it with measurement equipment (ILO C5).
- Implement monitoring systems: Developing solutions for remote monitoring of renewable energy sources and traditional energy systems.
- To apply modeling methods: To use computer simulation to verify the effectiveness of developed systems before their implementation on real objects.
The practical value and career
The acquired competencies are critically important for professionals who will be engaged in digital transformation and the reconstruction of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. The graduates of the module are ready to work in positions as systems architects, industrial software developers, and automation engineers at leading international energy and IT companies.
