This module is one of the key disciplines of first semester. The IT4SEE master’s program lays the foundation for all IT learning components. It is designed to teach future experts how to transform “raw” data from energy systems into strategic decisions for sustainable development.
Main characteristics:
- Status: Compulsory.
- Credits earned: 5 ECTS credits.
- Language: English.
- Location in course: 1 semester (basic stage of preparation).
The goal and content of the module
The module focuses on the intersection of Data Science and Energy Engineering. Students study scientific facts, concepts, and theories related to the application of information technologies in sustainable energy development. The learning is combined with active improvement of programming skills necessary for the practical implementation of analytical models.
What will you study?
Upon completion of the course, the students will be able to:
- Analyzing energy consumption patterns: Using statistical methods and algorithms to detect trends in energy usage.
- Optimize resource allocation: developing models that help to efficiently manage energy flows and minimize losses.
- Making informed decisions: Use the results of data analysis to support projects for the reconstruction and modernization of Ukraine’s energy systems.
- Applying mathematical methods: Choose appropriate mathematical approaches and computer technologies to solve complex professional tasks in the field.
Practical value and career
The knowledge gained within this module is critically important for development of Smart Grid systems and intellectual decision-making in energy management. Master-level proficiency in data analytics prepares graduates for careers in international IT companies and energy conglomerates, where there is a growing demand for professionals with a hybrid skill set.
