Validation process of the master’s program“Information Technologies for Sustainable Energy Development” (IT4SEE) became a key stage confirming its full compliance with the rigorous standards of British higher education and granting the right to issue diplomas of London South Bank University (LSBU)
Collaborative development and adaptation to UK standards
The program was developed jointly by experts from IFNTUNG and LSBU in an extremely tight timeframe at the beginning of 2023. The curriculum was created “from scratch” to simultaneously meet Ukrainian educational standards and British higher education legislation requirements.
To ensure transparency and quality, a preparation of comprehensive package of validation documentation has been made.
- Course specification – a detailed description of the structure and goals of the program.
- Module Descriptions – detailed information about required and elective courses.
- Global Course Resource Plan— plan to provide the course with necessary resources.
- Handbook on Global Collaboration Management– manual on international cooperation management.
Validation stages: from verification to recognition
The quality confirmation process went through several critical phases:
- April 2023 – The program has undergone the official validation process by a committee involving external experts. The Commitee carefully reviewed the content of the disciplines, qualifications of the teachers, and the material-technical base.
- June 2023 – Programme received an official conclusion about successful validation and compliance with British standards. This gave IFNTUNG the right not only to educate students in this program, but also to guarantee further recognition of their grades at LSBU.
Continuous monitoring and quality control
Validation is not a one-time event, but a system of continuous monitoring. According to British requirements, the teaching process is under constant scrutiny:
- Monitoring from LSBU – Representatives from the quality department and British instructors are carrying out continuous monitoring on provision of educational services.
- Semester exam boards – Each semester, international partners review the quality of teaching and conduct procedure of grade recognition for students.
- Access to the LSBU ecosystem – Students are integrated into the British educational environment, with access to the libraries and academic resources of London University on par with their British counterparts.
Upon completion of the diploma recognition procedure, the diplomas are issued by our partner, London South Bank University, and are sent to Ukraine by a delivery service, where we present them to our graduates.
