This module is a multidisciplinary component of the program and is taught in the first semester. It is aimed at developing students’ understanding of the challenges of the modern world, principles of renewable energy, and practical training in the enterprise.

Goal and content of the module
The aim of the course is to study the understanding of the challenges of the modern world and how renewable energy enables to address these issues. The module considers energy not only as an engineering field, but as a complex ecosystem where business decisions must take into account environmental consequences and social responsibility. Students learn to analyze the commercial and economic context of professional activities in the energy sector. The module consists of three parts – Principles and tools of renewable energy (4 credits), Challenges of the modern world (3 credits) and practical training (3 credits).

After completing their studies, students will be able to:
- Ensuring the stability of the energy systems: Developing strategies that enable businesses and industries to operate in conditions of energy crisis or resource scarcity.
- Integrating best practices into reconstruction. Planning projects for the reconstruction of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, taking into account environmental standards and long-term sustainability.
Practical value and career
The competencies acquired within this module enable graduates to work in leadership positions in international consulting firms, government agencies, and energy companies. Knowledge of the mechanisms of the resilience is critically important for professionals engaged in strategic planning for the development of energy networks and industrial facilities in the post-war period.
